Study Abroad Scholarship

The Scholars Without Borders Study Abroad Scholarship program has awarded approximately $50,000 since its inception in April 2009. Scholarship recipients have participated in diverse study and research opportunities in 22 different countries, from Thailand to Switzerland, Ghana to the Marquesas Islands. Funds for these awards come mainly from membership dues, along with generous donations from the SDSU Office of International Programs, the Charles Wei-Hsun Fu Foundation, and individual members who support this program.

To Apply:

"You must be a current member of Scholars Without Borders to be eligible to apply.
  • Click on the appropriate application attachment below (Graduate or Undergraduate) and download it
  • Complete the writeable form
  • Attach your essays and any additional documentation requested
  • Submit your application packet to Scholars Without Borders by turning it in via e-mail to Seth Kaplowitz at by the posted deadline:

-- November 1 for Spring Semester, Spring Break, and Winter Break study abroad programs
-- March 1 for Summer Break, Fall Semester, or Academic Year study abroad programs"
